Maybach believes in art driven by happiness, pain, healing and has a passion to make the world a better place. Originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, Jumper Maybach (born Ben Workman; 1963) didn’t always consider painting and creativity his calling. In fact, becoming an artist did not manifest itself in his life until one especially powerful day in 2010.

After having suffered decades of emotional abuse and being marginalized for his sexual orientation, he found himself on the brink of an emotional precipice. It was in that moment that helplessness turned to strength and the artist Jumper Maybach stepped forward and became instrumental and vital to Ben’s healing process.

Jumper believes it is a person’s traumas that define the individual. He releases his joy as well as his pain into his artwork, thus becoming the storyteller of the creation. The art is a constant evolution of color and complete abandonment of the paint. The complexity of the abstract style comes from deep within, but the message is clear. His art is a beacon for ending hate, bullying, and intolerance in the world. Jumper Maybach’s art is a lesson in compassion and calls to turn darkness into light. Today he is an artist that speaks to us from a healed space.

Not long after Jumper began his career as an artist, he started to receive accolades and recognition for his work, both in the states and abroad. In 2013, Jumper held his first gallery show, which led to an invite to attend Art Dubai 2013, UAE as a VIP guest. Jumper then exhibited in Dubai, UAE, in 2015 and then in 2017 at the prestigious ALLIANCE FRANÇAISE. It was there that he was dubbed the Jackson Pollock of the 21st century. More opportunities quickly began to present themselves. He was approached regarding the development of a documentary about his life, and shortly thereafter was asked to exhibit 39 large-scale works of art in Venice, Italy. This was the largest exhibition to date and took full advantage. He created and curated a Venice series specifically for the show, and then included a special screening of the trailer to his documentary, “The Jumper Maybach Story”. After that Jumper was invited to exhibit his art at the Gallerie Du Louvre in Paris, France—a momentous occasion for any artist.

Maybach’s hope is that his abstract way of seeing love, acceptance and freedom resonates with people. Since we are all unique, his art is all about expressing universal love, unconditional acceptance and freedom to be who you are.

Jumper Maybach has been a staple name in the art world for a long time not only for his charity work of giving back to the community but his expression of being powerful enough to have others relate to him. His work encapsulates the powerful messages that all unique people can come together to and truly resonate with.
