One work per month is set up on the digital architecture OTO conceived as an iconoclastic cosmos. The goal is to reflect on the transformations that have recently occurred in the cultural landscape, focusing on sounds.

This past year deeply impacted the way in which artworks and cultural content in general can be experienced. Due to the continuous restrictions and closures that forced cultural institutions to shut their doors, museums, galleries, cinemas and theaters had to deal with a quick digitization of their artistic programs. Thus, we have seen the proliferation of podcasts and audiovisual materials to be accessed remotely; new galleries and fairs were even founded exclusively online. Within this scenario, the curatorial project Zaira Oram was born, initiated by Francesca Ceccherini and Eleonora Stassi, two Italian curators based in Zurich, with the participation of Chloé Dall'Olio and Camille Regli.

From such collaboration, Oto Sound Museum was born with the desire to explore the ability of sound to solicit remarkable involvements from non-visible experiences.

The year 2020 has ushered in a new era of "post-migration," in which the habits of mobility and displacement of human beings are undergoing a profound change. The path of OTO SOUND MUSEUM intends to open a debate on the reinterpretation of the concept of migration through an artistic form that is characterized by its aptitude for travel, dissemination, protest and overcoming the given boundaries and the many walls of our civilization".

OTO SOUND MUSEUM feeds on the collaboration and complicity of its partners to spread the experimentation of sound. The actors and spaces involved become themselves vehicles of resonance, that allow sound to migrate further.

Ten works were selected for 2021 and they will be presented monthly on the online platform oto.museum, a visually "neutral" place. The sound works, set up on the platform and accessible for free, constitute the collection of Oto Sound Museum, which will be preserved and implemented over time. In parallel, the project will also extend into the analog dimension, through four live performances and sound installations that will be realized in the venues of the project partners: MigrationsMuseum (Zurich, CH), Kunst Halle Sankt Gallen (Sankt Gallen, CH), la rada (Locarno, CH), KRONE COURONNE (Biel/Bienne, CH).
