From March 19, Piazza Duca D'Aosta in Milan changes thanks to "The Reinstated Apple", the work of Michelangelo Pistoletto from the powerful visual and emotional impact, curated by Cittadellarte from Pistoletto Foundation, created by an idea and in collaboration with FAI - Fondo Ambiente Italiano, with the sponsorship and support of the City of Milan.

"The Reinstated Apple" is an apple of extraordinary dimensions, 11 tons in weight, 8 meters high and 7 in diameter, made up of a metal frame covered with a "skin" of natural material and with the sign of a "bite" on the top, reinstated thanks to a metal seam.

The artist's view represents the primordial result, the central symbol of reconciliation between nature and artifice. The work has been protagonist of a pilgrimage to the city in three stages, for each of them "The Reinstated Apple" has changed its skin, in relation to the new context. In its first position the big apple was exposed from 3rd to 18th of May in Piazza Duomo, covered with a real grass surface. For the consecutive months until the end of the Expo it has been exhibited in Parco Sempione, with a new lining in breathable textile fiber panels and resistant to light, a combination of traditional craftsmanship of Biella and technological innovation.

In its final location, in front of the Stazione Centrale, it is colored in white, because of a completely natural finish. Before that it will be unveiled in his new vest, visitors will have the unique opportunity to access the site of the apple and see the fulfillment of a work of art with the special eyes of the artist.
