Triumph Gallery was founded in 2006 by Emelyan Zakharov and Dmitry Khankin. The gallery focuses on contemporary art and works with major Russian and international artists. Among well-known Russian artists with whom the gallery works are AES+F, Alexander Brodsky, Vladimir Dubossarsky and Alexander Vinogradov, Alexei Beliayev-Guintovt and Recycle. In 2006 Triumph showed the work of one of today’s most famous artists, Damien Hirst, for the first time in Moscow. This was followed a year later by a solo show by Jake and Dinos Chapman. Triumph Gallery supports young artists through its Launchpad project. Project Triumphoto shows work by photographers three times a year and the seasonal project Method brings together artists working in the same medium or with similar artistic approaches. Along with exhibitions in its own space, Triumph Gallery leads the curating of significant exhibitions at other venues in Russia and abroad and supports young artists. Starting from 2013 the gallery has held several exhibitions of young Russian media artists in the framework of the «Great Expectations» and «Father and Sons» projects in collaboration with CEH “Manege" and MediaArtLab Center. Also in 2013 it established the interdisciplinary art and science initiative entitled Department of Research Arts. In 2015 Gallery launched a new project «Young Lions» in support of young artists. In 2015 Triumph Gallery presented solo exhibitions by AES+F and Recycle Group in the frameworks of parallel program of 56 Venice biennale of contemporary art. In 2016 Triumph Gallery launched a series of exhibitions under the name of EXTENSION, which show the current art scene of different countries. In 2016 the art gallery will host group exhibitions of artists from Romania, South Korea, Iran and Estonia. The EXTENSION project addresses artists whose work possesses distinctive local elements but at the same time is embedded in the general context of contemporary art. Each EXTENSION exhibition will acquaint spectators with well-known names, who can be encountered at international biennale and in leading global museums, and also young art and new trends.
