SILAS VON MORISSE GALLERY (formerly ART 3 gallery) is a dynamic contemporary art gallery established in February 2014 by Silas von Morisse formerly of Haunch of Venison (Christie's NY). The international program at SILAS VON MORISSE gallery is multidisciplinary, conceptual and process oriented, showcasing established, mid-career and emerging artists. The gallery maintains a deep relationship with dealers, museums and galleries worldwide. The gallery model has switched from brick and mortar to a highly curated online gallery with exhibitions held in numerous venues in the US or abroad.
SILAS VON MORISSE Owner, Director Silas von Morisse began her professional involvement in the art world in 2000 as Gallery Manager and registrar at the Helly Nahmad gallery in New York focusing on Impressionnist and Modern Art. There she organized numerous exhibitions including the acclaimed SOUTINE BACON, curated by Maurice Tuchman and Esti Dunow (2011). Other exhibitions include: Alexander Calder, The Painter (2011), Dubuffet (2009), Gustave Moreau – Arman The Day after ( 2008), Picasso Bodegones (2008) Max Ernst (2007), Fernand Léger (2005). In 2012, she joined the team of Haunch of Venison (Christie's) as Senior Level Gallery Manager where she worked on exhibitions featuring Gunther Uecker, Chiharu Shiota-Marlene Mocquet, Kevin Grancis Gray, Doug Argue, Ahmed Alsoudani. She has assisted clients in buying or selling works in the Secondary and Primary Market. In 2014, after 14 years of working for leading art galleries in New York, Silas established her own gallery. Prior to her involvement in the art world, Silas created and launched in 1990 the Short Circuit Film Festival in association with the American Center in Paris to promote young American Filmmakers. In 1993, she created the Night of American Short Films in Monaco under the Patronage of H.S.H. Prince Albert II. The Festival and Film Production company ran in Paris and New York from 1989 until 1996.
