Yuki Seli born in Fukuoka in 1969. After specializing at the Kuwazawa Design Institute in Tokyo he works as assistant photographer with his master Takeshi Fujimori learning art and design photography. Since 1997 he works as frrelance photographer. He participates to several collective exhibitions, having his first solo exhibition in 2002 at the Ginza Maki Masaru Fine Arts and later in 2011 at the Ozon Gallery in Belgrade (Serbia). He also received the Display Design Association Waward in 2004 and 2005 (for Shiseido and Lives brands). Seli goes for his first trip with his father’s camera when he is 16 and he goes towards the sea of the San’in coast. But it was not a very gratifying experience from a photographic point of view, so that he didn’t fell in love with photography at all. The landscape he saw and lived was too far from the one he was able to print on the paper. So he decided do dedicate himself to design, to learn the way of “making by yourself”. But, this was only a side way to reach his main photographic talent, which was still waiting for him. Since then, he never stopped his trip along the Japanese many islands’ coast, searching for that immense sea still invisible to the most part of the eyes.
