Time on My Hands

Wayne Ensrud (b. 1934, USA) “Time on My Hands” (2018) is an original acrylic painting on stretched canvas that measures 24 x 18 inches (unframed) and is signed by the artist in the lower right.  Somewhat of a departure from Ensrud’s more contemporary pieces, this image is both timeless and classic.  This work of art features beautifully detailed brushwork in a classical manner.  In his own words, Ensrud describes this recently released piece as follows:

“This is an intimate domestic scene of a young woman waiting for a friend. We don't know who she waits for, but her face is lit with anticipation. Indoor light floods the scene, highlighting the warm subtle golden walls as well as her charming face. The bold red of her collar and the robust fruits on the table juxtapose the soft pastel blues and warm white of the tabletop. These accents drive the viewer's eye towards her face which is not looking at the viewer but rather she is looking into the air in a dream-like state.”

Wayne Ensrud is an internationally known and acclaimed artist who has had over 60 exhibitions in the United States, Europe, Mexico and Japan.  He is a well-recognized and multi-talented painter, art director, animator, and art teacher.
