A self-taught artist, Valérie Favre has managed to succeed in the artistic scene since the 90’s, convening in her works does female rabbits, enchanted environments, or by drawing from the rich inventory of the history of art. This artist has been present at major exhibitions such as “Range ta chambe” at the “Centre d’Art Contemporain de Basse Normandie”, “Ici et là” at the “Musée de l’Ardenne”, “Les Restes de la Méduse” then at the “Musée d’Amiens”, “La Reine Malerei” at the Kunsthaus in Dresden while several of her works form part of national collections (Centre Georges Pompidou, Fonds municipal de la ville de Paris, MACVAL, FNAC de Paris, FRAC in Poitou-Charentes, Carré d’Art in Nîmes,…). In the following decade, she presented three major projects assuredly at a European level. In 2015, the monographic exhibition “Valérie Favre, la première nuit du monde” (Valérie Favre, the first night of the world) at the “Musée d’art moderne et contemporain de Strasbourg” truly consecrated her work, underscoring its important position in current creations. Several special events took place in 2016 – in particular, a project entitled “About trees” at the “Paul Klee Center” in Berne and a personal exhibition at the “Museum Franz Gertsch” (Burgdorf) and at the “Kunsthalle van der Heydt” (Wuppertal).
