'Haiku #1', by Valeria Perversi, paintings

A unique work by Valeria Perversi made with a mixed media consisting of acrylic, water paint, and pencil on plywood board, complemented by a pass of resin to make the surface shinier.

The subject is taken from the Haiku series and features the following short Japanese poem in the center:

"Noon

Of midsummer

Death spies on us

Half-closed eyes"

The painter chooses warm and intense color tones, referring precisely to the poem. The work is signed and accompanied by the certificate of authenticity.

1967 Milano, Italy

Born in Milan in 1967 and graduated in Applied Graphics from the IED in 1984, Valeria Perversi worked for 12 years in the advertising field as a graphic designer and creative for various agencies, also incorporating experience in computer graphics that she still uses for photo editing works. She never put aside her painting experience, taking it up again especially after her experience in the advertising field, at first applying it also to objects and furniture, trying to transfer an archaic meaning and flavor to her products. Later his focus shifted mainly to paintings starting from single concepts and painting with the intimate need and curiosity to explore the human mind and ways, using hidden signs and paths and making use of religious and philosophical concepts in his works. She applies her art everywhere, including on carpentry, learning her workmanship from his maternal grandfather and transforming low-value pieces into unique treasures; on jewelry/bjewelry; on clothing. In short, everything where it is feasible is transformed into a unique piece of great effectiveness and originality. In April 2020 she opened LadyV, her workshop in the central area of Milan. She participated in several exhibitions, including MarteSana in Milan in 2009 and 2010, Cromaticos in Ferrara in 2010, Dimensioni Astratte in Berlin in 2011, Il Ritorno di Proserpina in Turin in 2012, Pop Re-Generation in Pordenone in 2015, Love Surrrealism in Rome in 2017, Art Shopping . Salon International d'Art Contemporain in Paris in 2019.
