German philosopher G.F.W. Hegel teaches us there is truth in art and that art is a striking way in which we understand ourselves in a given historical moment. I believe the social function of my art practice lies in presenting truth as an important social form of self-awareness. As an artist and activist, my recent work is built on the practice of understanding the importance of my creative commitment as a source of potential change by generating public discourse on critical issues.
