About the Artist

1969 Milan, Italy

Italian artist born in Milan in 1969. She graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, the Polytechnic School of Design and the Polytechnic of Milan. She attended the study of Bruno Munari, Nino di Salvatore, Luigi Veronesi and Attilio Marcolli, with whom she deepened the study of Gestalt.

Her work, always linked to the great passion for art and visual perception, has developed in design and architecture with numerous projects marked by the contamination of the various disciplines.

Among the most significant works, the project and the realization of the wooden floors of the Prada Foundation in Milan (2015), "Filoapiombo" realized with Davide Groppi (2013), the project of the Museo di Arte Plastica in Castiglione Olona (2004). In 1994 she won the first national prize for the flooring design of the porticoes in the loggia of Abano Terme.

She has worked as an art director with numerous companies. In 2000 she began to develop her own personal visual research.

"If you have a gift, Sara Frattini, is to see the forms, to attract them, almost instinctively; to weigh thoughts in presences, absences of objects in their visual horizon, lines, lightness and equilibrium, even before with words. And chasing the forms, mostly stripping them, has always certified the sum of all her work. Her mental predilections, rather than stylistic ones, are to remove rather than to add, to denude form rather than to mask it, to put it in order and not to pile up. They are works of purity, of silent conceptuality ".
Riccardo Prina, 2004
