  • About the work

RaspberryPi, memory card, electronics, screen, motors, servomotor, belts, power supplies, steel, 3D printed parts in PLA, pigmented archival ink and Fabriano cotton paper.

The work, composed of a drawing machine, from a Cartesian system of three axes (X, Y, Z), is connected to a data source with the daily geolocation of a protected raptor, in a temporary space of one year . The data is processed and drawn by this system. The result is random lines that show us the daily journey of the bird on a paper of 70x100 cm. We focus interest on data visualization. Reality is translated and converted into information data. These are the raw material that, from a series of processes, form the image. The randomness of the bird's flight becomes representation. The Bird: the journal of the image, transforms the work of art into new forms of knowledge and interaction with space and with time, changing the way of perceiving reality and interacting with it.

The work is comprised of a drawing machine, 6 refills of pigmented archival ink and 6 drawings of 70x100 cm Fabriano cotton paper, signed, and a pen drive with the G-code files of the 3D pieces that assemble the machine. The memory card includes the data of one year of daily tours by the bird.
