Roberto Guglielmino, 1952 in Varese, Italy. First prize at a painting competition in Udine. Since 1967 in Graz. One year of arts and crafts school. Then abort self-taught drawing and painting. Visits and studies in numerous museums in Europe. Travels to Israel and the USA. Several solo exhibitions. Most recently in Berlin in 2003. Participation in exhibitions at the 1979 Biennale in Vienna (Stadtparkprolekt). 1982 at the Graphic Biennale in Bilbao and 1987 at "Rapido Fine" in Ferrara, Italy. Currently studies of portraits with deformed noses, which I call "block noses", but also of deformed heads and bodies. For me they symbolize the turning away from nature; its constant deformation into a rational, uniform, synthetic mass.
