Miguel Monzón (b.1989) is a Southwest native originally from California that has resided in Arizona for the last two decades. He is a Master of Fine Arts in Intermedia Candidate at Arizona State University. He is an interdisciplinary artist who works between new media technologies like digital video, performance, and more traditional media like painting and printmaking. His current research is focused on underground economies, the US war on drugs, and by extension the global drug trade. He is also interested in the exponential development of emerging technologies whose impacts on world culture are on the horizon. He is particularly interested in how these technologies intersect with politics, ethics, and society at large. He is a recipient of the Arizona State University Presidential Graduate Assistantship.
