Technique: mixed media on canvas;

Year: about 2015;

Work by the contemporary artist Meloniski da Villacidro, who uses the typical and dreamlike traits of his style to represent an architectural complex as a tribute to Milan for Expo 2015. A fish like a "fish kites" or "arks saviors" is caring on some new and historical palaces of Milan (we can see Pelli's tower or the Duomo), to fabulous landscape. Meloniski doesn't accept that the modernity could separate the humanity from Nature.The "Dream Fish" tied buildings and skyscrapers to the land between the heavens and the sea, thanks to the power of nature. The message that the artist sends us is the salvation of the human condition of modern man, possible only through dreams and imagination. Always experimenter of various and different techniques, Meloniski combines also in this work traditional painting and three-dimensional inserts: thanks to the application of details, he creates an alternation of surfaces plastic and dynamic. The work is signed bottom right.

1943 Villacidro, Italy

Meloniski was born in Villacidro, in Sardinia, in 1943. He is a painter, a sculptor and a ceramist and his distintive trait consist in using many techniques and in the experimentation of different materials.

His works are characterized by a dreamful and fantastic atmosphere: thin shapes fluctuate in nocturnal skies where sparkling stars shine. We can find in his works bright colours and love for uncontaminated nature of his hometown.

Self-taught artist who travels all over Europe until he sets up home in Paris and then in Milan. In French capital he studies ancient masterpieces, modern and contemporary art visiting the great museums.

Meloniski keeps on looking for the truth. His apparently fantastic works hide great metaphores about human beings and his detachment from nature. Even his love for flight is protagonist of his famous retouchés where also fishes and boats plough magic nocturnal seas.
