José Manuel Menéndez Rojas is a Majorcan painter born in Palma in 1956, currently living and working in Alaró, Mallorca.

He soon discovered his vocation as a painter, conceiving art as a means of communication between himself and the world. His work is defined within the abstract figuration, since his way of seeing the world is represented through the figures in his paintings.

He graduated in Fine Arts at the University of Barcelona, and his first individual exhibition took place at the Quatre Gats gallery in Palma in 1977. From that moment on he took part in numerous solo and group exhibitions, both in Spain and abroad, reaching countries such as Germany, Italy, the United States and China.

Menéndez Rojas also participated in art fairs such as ARCO - for several consecutive years - as well as Tokyo Art Expo, Chicago International Art Expo, Art Asia or Art Miami. In addition, his works are part of important collections such as AENA Foundation, Department of Culture of the Consell de Mallora, Foundation "SA NOSTRA" or Cisneros Collection.
