JC Spock is a mixed media artist who specializes in nostalgic art with a contemporary edge. Each painting incorporates multiple layers of acrylic paints, inks, pastels and vintage ephemera (letters, ledgers, postcards and other authentic documents) with photography to create vintage inspired works of art. The artist is inspired by the architecture of old, rusty and abandoned structures and objects as well as architectural elements in nature. Creating art that speaks to a bygone era in a modern way is at the core of JC’s work and she is particularly drawn to the imagery and history of the Midwest/West.
