He was born in 1965 in Ljubljana. Since 1983 he presented his work on more than twenty solo exhibitions and more than a hundred group exhibitions.
The Scientific Research Centre at the Slovenian Academy of Arts and Sciences (ZRC SAZU) published the book of his works Photographic Incarnations with accompanying texts of Marina Gržinić and W. J. T. Mitchell in 2003. Photos of Štravs are included in many public and private collections.
He works as freelance photographer in Ljubljana.
