Giovanni Fredi (born in 1984, Brescia, lives and works in Iseo, Italy)
Drawing on his interest in technology, Giovanni Fredi reflects on how the constant use of computers and digital devices has changed people’s way of life and the way in which humanity connects with nature, culture and traditions. To communicate these constantly evolving relationships, the artist goes beyond photography, experimenting with its new forms. His artistic works move between documentary photography and the aesthetic of the selfie. He uses technologies such as augmented and virtual reality to build a new relationship between spirituality, tradition and the digital, exploring the theme of techno-animism. His approach is ethnographic based on the observation of social behaviour.
