Rebirth

Born in 1998, Florence Khoo Suet Nee started her art journey after she graduated with her Diploma in Fine Art from the Dasein Academy of Art. Her works are inspired by the art of Batik, saturated with vibrant colors, floral motifs, and a complementary mix of patterns. Born and raised in Malaysia, Florence Khoo is an artist who has always been fascinated by the beauty of Malaysian batik, which is a big influence on her artwork. This is especially evident through the pops of vibrant colors and recurring floral patterns in her pieces, mimicking the traditional canting technique. Her art aims to bring the beauty of batik into different kinds of mediums and to share her love for this timeless craft. Florence's work has been exhibited in galleries and pop-up events in Malaysia and UK. She was involved in a recent campaign by Monki, an exclusive pre-launch event with a local shoe brand by Itsmachino, the 1000 Tiny Artworks exhibition at The Back Room KL, an exhibition at Rumah Tangsi by The Messy Club, and a retail shop by The Steamroom in the UK.
