Zinc-coated iron wire, copper wire, and scissors.

1973 , Italy

Fabrizio Pozzoli was born in 1973 in Milan, where he lives and works. He combines scientific studies with experiences as set designer assistant. Performs internships in the United States and England. Research in graphics and writing and is trained in the courses of the School of Comics in Milan, where he achieves precise skills of anatomical representation of the figure to which he will always be faithful. Since the late nineties he has been working on three-dimensional metal sculptures, made of iron wire, generally protected by silicone, but sometimes left to rust corrosion.

Between 1998 and 1999 Pozzoli stayed in London and Windsor. In 2002 some of the figures did they have inside or emerge from architectural structures in iron covered in rust: these are the prodromes, in the key of study, of a wider conception of the figure in space as a scene, which has recently verified the contextualization of theatrical events around sculptures of Pozzoli, executed in full size. Sometimes iron wire is accompanied by copper wire, with an increase in dramatic data or as an indicator of the paths of the gaze on the body of the figure. An increase in the lighting impact is also obtained by galvanizing the material.

In 2005 he began working on large sculptures, focusing attention no longer only on the body as a whole, but on the face and its physiognomic characteristics. Starting from 2007, the rust element, obtained through the natural, appears in the works of Pozzoli oxidation of the metal exposed to atmospheric agents. In 2008, the personal exhibition OVERSIZE, at the Montrasio Arte gallery in Milan, is enhanced by the shots of the great master of photography Gianni Berengo Gardin, who portrays the young Milanese artist at work in his studio.

He stayed for three months in New York, at the HSF Artist Residence, where he also held a personal exhibition. In 2009 he took part in the San Fedele Artivisive Prize in Milan, where he was third classified. It appears in the catalog "Gianni Berengo Gardin - Reportrait", among the characters of the world of culture of the '900 immortalized by the illustrious photographer. A large exhibition held at Palazzo Penotti Ubertini in Orta San Giulio (NO) is linked to the catalog. On the occasion of the Milo Manara exhibition, held in Venice, at the Palazzo Querini Stampalia, he is invited to create a series of works as a tribute to the great designer.

Between 2010 and 2011 the exhibition Attese opens, at the gallery The heroic fury of Milan, which sees Fabrizio Pozzoli's sculptures dialogue with the works of Gianfranco Ferroni: one of the gallery's famous Two-way Dialogues with Catalog and texts by Chiara Gatti and Silvia Agliotti. In 2014 he also inaugurated the Intrecci exhibition at Gli eroici furori in Milan, which sees the dialogue between Pozzoli and the masters of contemporary photography continue, in the coexistence of the sculptures with the mosaic works made with Polaroid® films by Maurizio Galimberti: another Dialogue with Two of the gallery that will remain in memory, together with the catalog with the texts of Silvia Agliotti and Alberto Mattia Martini. Fabrizio Pozzoli has also always been present in numerous collective exhibitions of the Gallery, as a leading sculptor of Gli eroici furori.

Some of his sculptures are part of important public and private collections, including the Sculpture Park at the Idroscalo in Milan and the Bracco Foundation. Starting from 2004, the works of Pozzoli are used for the preparation of scenographies in pièces represented in various theaters (Filodrammatici, Libero, Binario7). Fabrizio Pozzoli has exhibited in Europe, America and Asia.
