Since 2010, Evfrosina creates kinetic sculptures-tumblers, which she calls Ifallils (from the English "I fall in love"). Ifallil is a character who is so in love with life that no matter how much he falls, he still sincerely believes in this life, love and balances on a small ball, always returning to the starting position.

According to the artist, Ifallils were conceived as figurines-talismans that, when rotated, create healing vibrations that purify the space, calm and immerse the viewer in a meditative state of mind.

In 2020, Evfrosina presented a new series of tumblers to the public – "Chameleons", in which the Ifallils take on the additional importance of adapting to the moment, but at the same time unwavering loyalty and constant return to themselves.

Evfrosina (Russian-Spanish, b.1974) works across painting, drawings, kinetic sculpture, video art and photography. In each field she has created her own distinguished, easily recognizable visual style. The prevailing subject of her compositions is the movement.

"Nothing is constant in the world but flux"... She focuses on the motion of a human body, considered like a powerful instrument of the work with consciousness and energy.

One of her latest projects called Ifallil fully evolves this concept. It consists of various interactive kinetic sculptures (Ifallils) which transfer the idea of harmony and balance.

About the Artists

1974 Moscow, Russian Federation

Evfrosina (1974) is a contemporary Russian-Spanish artist who currently lives and works in Barcelona, Spain.

In her artistic practice, Evfrosina works with various mediums: kinetic sculptures, painting, graphics, photography, and video art. In each area, she created her own distinctive, easily recognizable visual style. The prevailing topic of the artist's work is movement as the basis of all processes in man and nature. The extensive experience of yoga practices and the search for the balance that an artist needs to perform asanas gives Evfrosina a special look at art. The artist focuses on the movement of the human body, which is a powerful tool in working with consciousness and energy. In her works, she try to express the state of flow, pure mind, and body, liberated to free movement.

To achieve these artistic goals, Evfrosina uses various mediums, through each of them the theme of the movement is revealed from a new side. "Contemporary art balances on the edge of different fields that did not intersect before, but now intertwine, creating something new, unified and integral, and this game is interesting to me," the artist concludes.

Since 1996, Evfrosina has been actively participating in exhibitions of contemporary art. Her works are in private and Museum collections all over the world.
