Eric Turlot is a French painter. He studied at the Duperré School of Applied Art before joining the Beaux-Arts de Paris. Afterwards, although he followed an artistic curriculum, he turned to a career in communication. From 1975 to 2005, he worked in Parisian agencies and moved from a position as a graphic and editorial designer to that of creative director. It was not until 2005 that he decided to devote himself solely to his art. Eric Turlot then travelled to trade fairs and exhibited in various galleries. Living in Paris, he is passionate about his city and tries to depict its voluptuous atmosphere. His nocturnal landscapes reveal a struggle between artificial light and the streets of Paris at night. Urban paintings that transpire like a jazz tune, straight out of a movie scene. The city inspires him daily, and although he has set up his studio in Normandy, it is for Paris that his art vibrates. He knows how to retranscribe the hustle and bustle of the city and the permanent movement of its inhabitants. Faced with his paintings, we are as if behind a veil of condensation, a translation of the confrontation between the heat of the belly of Paris and the coolness of the night. Eric Turlot has been awarded the Silver Medal of the Academic Society of Arts, Sciences and Letters and the Gold Medal of the Academic Society of French Merit and Dedication.
