Elisa Zadi made her debut in 2005 with a series of self-portraits that turned out to be an introspective investigation necessary for her and that remained one of the central themes of her research.

Since 2008, her interest has focused on the human figure, especially the female, investigated with a raw and introspective directness: this originates pictorial works expressed in polyptychs; the subjects are composed in a rhythmic and conceptual narrative, which intensifies in 2013/14 with large-scale pictorial-installation series, which reconstruct, through the fragmentary nature of the canvas, a slice of everyday existentialism.

Since 2015, the human figure becomes a simulacrum of its essence through clothing artworks that reveal
a continuous search for materials and materials, in which the margin of painting extends its boundaries embracing various disciplines giving rise to interactive and performative installations.
