1957 , France

Dominique Liquois understands art as an opening onto a space of experimentation and observation.

During her university studies, she became interested in Latin American contemporary art and became a member of a group of artists who created multimedia actions in Mexico City that combined performance, video, painting, music and poetry.

Turning then to a more personal work, the drawing becomes the base from which progresses its reflection on the first forms and the strategies of the living.

Little by little, other techniques or materials such as painting, printed fabric, engraving or ceramics, enter into dialogue to give form, indistinctly, to two-dimensional creations or hybrid objects.

Her practice is guided by multiple interests ranging from anthropology to popular artistic expressions, decorative arts and primitive arts, all of which come together in various formal realizations to express the unstable and fragile complexity of life.

Since 1990 she has participated in numerous exhibitions, including at the Jean Fournier Gallery, the MACC in Fresnes, the Frac-Auvergne, the Dix-neuf-CRAC in Montbéliard, the H du Siège in Valenciennes, the Vigie- Centre d'art in Nîmes, the Offramp Gallery, Pasadena, the Pascal Gabert Gallery and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Angers.

From 2004 to 2010, she worked on original silkscreen prints in the studio of Eric Seydoux who presented her work in several fairs, such as the Fiac and Art Paris. In 2019 she will participate in the group exhibition "Mutatio" at Passage Amelot.

Some of her works are part of private collections and the collection of Frac-Auvergne.

Dominique Liquois is a member of the ADAGP.
