#CURATORPILL
Cecilia Battaini, (Milan, Italy, 1993). Cecilia Battaini is a Milanese born and raised illustrator and designer. Having developed an interest in botanical drawing, she learned how to draw all sorts of flowers and plants as an autodidact. She graduated in Fashion and Textile design from Istituto Marangoni in Milan and further specialized at Central Saint Martins in London. The works she creates are printed on fabric.

“ By focusing primarily on flowers and on the botanical world, I sometimes address myself as a flower in the midst of flowers. My art is the expression of my inner garden, of all my dreams, thoughts, sensations, emotions and moods. The flowers seem delicate and vulnerable, yet at the same time they are incredibly strong and resistant, capable of growing in environments such as the desert. Places like this and others, visited during my travels, are a continuous source of inspiration, which have pushed me to create real series."

Each week Rossella Farinotti, our curator, selects 6 interesting artworks on Kooness choosing artists from different generations, mediums, countries and approaches to contemporary art, indicating the reasons why it’s worth understanding the artwork.
