Continuity

Tamayo's works are influenced by a diversity of experiences reflecting the artist's personal past, as a child in Ethiopia and as a grown-up between Spain and Hong Kong.

"These are some themes, I have been inspired by when creating my works. Nature: The colors of my many trips to different countries in Asia. The culture of Hong Kong: Specifically, the streets and architecture. The culture in Barcelona, my memories of my adolescence and my first two years of college. My childhood experiences in my native country: Painful memories of loss, separations and abandonment, loss of my own identity"

Tamayo's most used materials are fabrics, wood, paper and all painted in acrylic. Lines are one of the core elements of Tamayo's artistic research, which is yet to be finalized.
