About the Artist

1983 , Italy

Anna Capolupo (Lamezia Terme, 1983, lives and works in Florence) majored in Painting at the Academy of Fine Arts of Florence. In 2013, she wins the second edition the Young at Art Prize, promoted by the MACA (Museum of Contemporary Art of Acri). The following year she is shortlisted at both the Combat Prize and the Terna Prize. Between the months of June and July of the same year, Burning Giraffe Art Gallery hosts her solo show entitled TorinoNowhere. Metropolitan Unconscious vol. 1, the first chapter of a double exhibition which has her returning to the gallery in November 2015, with a pictorial research on the non-places of Berlin. In 2014, one of her paintings enters in the Bancartis Collection of BCC Mediocrati Bank, a prelude to her first exhibition in a public museum, which is held in the months of Aprile and May, 2015, at the MACA, and is entitled Where I’ve Always Been. In February 2015, she wins the Limen Arte International Prize for Painting. In the same month, Wired magazine selects her among the 20 most promising young talents in Italy (Wired Audi Innovation Award). In 2016 she takes part at the exhibition of the finalists of the We Art Internationl Prize, at Area35 Artfactory, in Milan. In July of the same year, she wins the Combat Prize, with the artwork Don’t Be Afrai of Emptiness. With Burning Giraffe Art Gallery she exhibited her works at the following art fairs: Paratissima (2014), Turin, The Others (2015), Turin, SetUp (2016), Bologna.
