Aldo Luongo (b. 1941, Argentina) “Alicia” (1981) Limited-edition screen print in 62 colors, hand signed and numbered (13/275) in pencil in the lower margin. Published by Martin Lawrence Limited Editions and printed by Accent Design Studios with blind stamp in the lower left. The image is 28 x 37 inches and with the matting and Plexiglass enclosed in a light wood toned frame, the work of art measures 38 x 47 inches. The work is done in a variety of soothing blue shades and features a young lady lying in bed on her back, holding a flower. Surrounding her is a painting hanging on the wall and sunlight streaming into the room. Luongo is known for pieces done in a bold, impressionistic style with a fluidity and intensity that has been referred to as “Romance on Canvas”. The piece is in apparently good condition, although the frame shows some age-consistent wear.

Luongo is known for portraiture, artwork depicting athletes and sports (especially soccer), and he was commissioned twice to create images for the Olympics. His works are bold, impressionistic, and colorful while also conveying a sense of fluidity and intensity.
