Where are we now?, digital photography, 2019.

1999 Milano, Italy

Agnese Carbone aka Agnemag, was born in Milan in 1999. Grown up in a family where art and music have always been part of her daily life, she approaches the latter at a very young age, showing both expressive and creative talent. Later she discovered photography, first in digital and then almost exclusively in analog, preferring portraits of subjects, as well as self-portraits, then expanding its artistic content to landscapes and architecture that she meets in her travels. Agnemag's photography aims to create a complementarity between two different dimensions. The first one is more intimate, which lets a tangible sensorial sphere transpire, built through an immanent meaning that predisposes the spectator to a passive interpretation; the latter, on the contrary, is active in the second dimension, more metaphysical, as the spectator gives an explanation of reality regardless of any empirical concept. Therefore the space-time coordinates are blurred. His artistic language, however, uses a further poetic device: the sketchbook. Photographs, tempera and writing are mixed in order to tell a story, ranging from personal to universal.
