Agata Treccani, PODseries, Pod.freedom, acrylic on canvas, 40x30cm,2020

Pod is part of the word earpods, that is the name given to the instrument to listen file audio privately from a device. PODS series is born precisely from the term which among its synonyms has the words shell, buffer and pad, terms that refer to the isolation and birth of something. By now, accustomed to this contemporary aesthetic, we do not pay attention to the innate separating and ubiquitous nature of the earpods. Society has assimilated this function of isolation that each individual carries out by immersing themselves in "their world" by walking in the world. Traditional portraiture connects the viewer and the painted subject, while with Pods series we face individuals we observe but who do not observe us, because they're sensorially and mentally in another private place.

1995 Brescia, Italy

Agata Treccani (born in 1995, Brescia, Italy) is a multidisciplinary artist. Her research theorizes and studies the new contemporary visual language fueled by socio- contemporary dynamics; social behavior and the consequent individual or collective physical manifestations (for example marketing, brands, virality) are an element of study and a possible tool for creation. Her theory materializes through paintings, videos, installations or new media and her various works revolve around unconventional methods that exploit the same "contemporary" research object. She has a MFA from the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice 2020 and a BA degree from the Academy of Fine Arts in Brescia in 2017. Currently she lives and works in Brescia.
