My name is Didier Van der Heyden, and I was born on February 5, 1960, in Troyes. My art studio is located in Ste Savine, a town in the greater Troyes area. Being entirely self-taught, I have never undergone formal training in graphic arts. I have been showcasing my artwork for approximately a decade, initially in local exhibitions and shops. Subsequently, I participated in unique art festivals such as St Hilaire le Chatel three times, Dives sur Mer three times, and more recently, "Les I.Reèls" in La Queue lez Yvelines. Additionally, my work has been featured in galleries, including the now-closed Commun'art gallery in Clamecy and the "Galeria La Pigna" in Rome. My artistic influences stem from art brut, outsider art, art singulier, and the free figuration of Robert Combas. I draw inspiration from Hundertwasser for the use of color. In my creations, I enjoy depicting fictional characters with emotions that are neither overly joyful nor excessively somber. This approach allows viewers the freedom to interpret the psychological states of the characters in the artwork as they see fit.
