Valentina Colella was born in Sulmona, Italy October 29, 1984.

In 2013 at the Hundred Years Gallery in London, Valentina Colella began developing the image of a flight derived by Google Maps. This study was further developed in different stages with the exhibition Attese Impossibili (Impossible Waiting) in 2014, at the Luigi Di Sarro Gallery in Rome, and also as part of the Bienal del fin del Mundo, Argentina. The flight, a segment from a Facebook performance and documented with prints, formed part of the 2015 exhibition Gestures at the Kaohsiung Museum of Fine Arts, Taiwan. In 2016 he’s introduced her first study on the flight of the po-ià-na. The project was presented at the Italian Cultural Institute in Cologne, Germany and at the Museo Laboratorio in Città Sant’Angelo, Italy. With her project “Learning” Valentina won the 2017 ARP Art Residency Project in South-Africa where she build a relationship with the Everard Read Gallery in Cape Town. In 2018 during the residency program AIR Madreselva, in Uruguay, she realized the third part of the her international project 'where the stars sleep’. In May of 2018 for “More than real” at the Kunsthalle West Lana, she began to conclude the story started in 2013 “steer toward to black” with the installation “the black flight of the wi-fi”, millions of different flights painted on 28 canvas. In October she was a finalist in the 19th Premio Cairo con “quello che resta” e monumental work composed of 2.915 hand cut fine art paper and in October it was also part of her solo-show titled “Memories are not Memories” at the Amy-d gallery in Milan.
