The artist Vadim Kovalev was born in 1968 in the capital of Latvia, Riga, where he is also presently living and creating his works. When Vadim was five, he began to learn the basics of art. In 1979 he began studies at the Riga Art School - "Jāņa Rozentāla Rīgas Mākslas vidusskolа". In 1986, Vadim graduated from the Art School, and then he was enrolled at the State Art Academy of Latvia, at the Faculty of Graphic. In 1994, he successfully defended his thesis. Today Vadim Kovalev is an independent artist who is always open for new ideas.
