Arnau Casas, known as Ruttum, was raised in a family of well-known contemporary artists, it’s no surprise he decided to study and get a Fine Arts degree in university. Ruttum displayed a great talent for painting very early on, so much so he won an award at the Venice Biennale, one of the most prestigious cultural festivals in Europe.

Despite his orthodox, classic and contemporary roots, Ruttum started diving into more avant-garde realms, especially informalism, transformative and abstract art, to end up somewhere in between. In most recent times, he has actively dabbled in the figurative art, not unlike Francis Bacon, using multi coloured oil paints mixed with street junk to create a very personal interpretation of a pop and street art hybrid.
