  • Curriculum Vitae

Primarosa Cesarini Sforza is a multi-disciplinary artist that works with various media. Her paintings can be on paper, wood or canvas using oil, acrilic, water colors, separately or mixed. Her later wooks include the use of needle and thread. She likes to decorate ceramics using the forms made in Deruta, a small ancient town near Perugia, world famous for the shapes and the decoration of its ceramics. Some of her works are painted collages on paper: small bits of images such as numbers, clippings, photographs, figures previosly drawn by the artist that are carefully and with disinterested order pasted on paper. There is in addition the use of paint and color, outlines of figures, gestures of gouache and water color. Mediterranean and warm. The result is a graphic and emotional entry into memory and the past, as well as a door into the present. Primarosa Cesarini Sforza collects "traces", as a woman and mother, of existence, seeing those things that others do not. At times in her work a text or a phrase are scrawled in the artist handwriting; extracs of her poet friends. Recurring elements in her work are: the bolw, sea shells, a small house and the outline of a young girl, maybe the artist herself looking out into the world. Primarosa devides her time between the United States, where she lived for almost ten years, Italy and Morocco. She traveles very frequently and traces of her traveling can allways be found in her work.
