Ponsot.S

Stéphanie Ponsot, born August 24, 1987, in Lons-Le-Saunier, Jura, France, is a French painter and draftswoman. Her works are full of colors and emotions in an abstract style, nuagism.

She was born into a working class family and her grandparents were farmers. She started from a young age alone, she loved natural pigments, fertilizers and drawing. Her great-uncle who was a painter in Dole, gave her this confidence in creation.

She saw specialists who knew how to guide her, she assumes her tremors and she made her hypersensitivity a strength. When she was 18, she worked as a helper for Pierre Genot, a painter, in Lons-Le-Saunier. But she refused to sell her paintings and drawings that she gave for good care. At the age of 22, she left her native region and went to the Var, to Gassin. 

She carried herself in the adventure of her paintings which are very personal to her. An intimacy between the painting and her. Her inspiration is the fact that she does not invent anything on her canvases, her technique is to retranscribe with oil paint, on linen canvas, or on wood, worked with a spatula, the colors of nature, with its emotions. In 2012, the people of Var gave her the desire to exhibit her paintings and to accept to sell them.

She does much more for others than for herself. Her luggage is made with time and what she found on the way. She has help and support from people she loves. Since 2013, she lives in Ivry-sur-Seine because it is a mutual crush.
