Born in 1975, PINKHAS is a young painter-sculptor. His initial career, at least atypical, combines a doctorate in medicine and theatrical training (Cours Florent, Academy Oscar Sisto). However, since childhood, he has engaged in a pictorial activity with a marked interest in painting and drawing. It was with the discovery of the Masters of the Paris School that his vocation was born.

Artistic process

Pinkhas defines himself as an heir to the Jewish School of Paris and has boundless admiration for Chagall (not the gallery owner, Marc), Soutine and Modigliani. His painting is resolutely expressionist. Her childish, playful and shy characters transport us to a warm, poetic and shy atmosphere where a female presence often thrones, reminiscent of the relationship to omnipresent and protective motherhood.

"HOW MUCH YOU CAN" COLLECTION

Alongside his more academic figurative work, Pinkhas is developing a series of conceptual works with the recurring element of the gold ingot. Small "precision", the artist wishes to stage only real gold bars.

This work is done from two angles:

The Gold Up series, featuring ingots in safes that are targets of a robbery and The Hidden Gold series having fun putting these ingots in more surprising situations. The most representative version is undoubtedly the collection entitled: “How much you Pez? Where The Famous Candy Distributor delivers real ingots in provocative praise to the unbridled consumer society.
