  • About the Artist
  • Curriculum Vitae

He was born on March 28, 1886 in Slavateck in Western Slavonia.
From 1918 he attended the Celjabinsk School of Fine Arts and in 1923 he settled in Madrid and worked with the academic painter Alvarez de Sotomayor, director of the Prado.
From 1923 to 1943 he has a profound religious crisis and for about 20 years he will remain inactive within the Franciscan Convent of Valladoid thus managing not to be involved in the world conflict.
In 1945 he moved to Paris and attended Andrè Breton not fully sharing the surrealist ideas.
In 1946 he buys a Mickey Mouse number at the Gare de Lyon and is struck by it. He denies all his previous art and considers Disney the only great artist of the twentieth century.
From Breton's surrealism to Andy Warhol's Pop Art, Olinsky denies the history of art to embrace the Disney imagery. The famous mouse is in fact the privileged subject of his fantastic and surreal narratives set in archaic or metaphysical landscapes.
From 1987 he moved to Milan and retiring to private life entrusted to Prof. Paolo Sandano the task of divulging his work and taking care of his archive
