  • About the Artist

Ned, Stéphane Nédellec by his real name, is one of the 3 co-founders of the 9eme Concept collective with Stéphane Carricondo and Jerk45. Born in 1971, he lives and works in Paris. Today he plays with a multiplicity of influences. His Breton origins have forged his line which is constantly evolving. Thus, intertwined motifs abound, declined in volutes, spirals or complex labyrinths. His research on the universal primitive line gives Ned's images intriguing atmospheres. By combining photography, drawing and painting, he creates motifs on the borderline between realism and abstraction. Strongly inspired by the art of the Middle Ages, Ned aspires to deconstruct its shapes and lines to build medallions. Mandorles, ornaments, interlacing flames, arabesques and friezes are now the heraldic script that he develops in the form of new modern coats of arms. Armed with a system of stencils, the artist also attacks the walls and imposes a fusion of motifs, banners, streamers, oriflammes or magic seals, thus giving a more conceptual energetic vision to his work.
