Tanigawa’s recent works are based on the motif of the brushstroke. This theme applied to lacquer, represents the clash between the rapid flicker of the sign and the long application process of the lacquer. The works of the young artist lead us, by contrast, of being aware of the moment, of now, thanks to a technique which dates back more than 10,000 years.
