Maurizio Ceccarelli, was born in a small hamlet of the city of Imola, Sasso Morelli, to a family of farmers, dedicated for generations to the land.Deliberately, unlike his brother Franco, he decided not to carry on the activity already undertaken by his grandparents and at the age of fifteen he enrolled in the Hotelier Institute and graduated as a Chef. Cooking, the creativity of the mixtures of aromas, flavors and colors become his primary job, which he alternates until the age of thirty-four years, with other experiences that confirm in him his creative vein, as an advertising clerk for a chain of beauty centers and in the fashion industry.

Since about 2001, therefore he begins to oscillate more and more his dual personality of creative chef, with that of publicist: researcher of the right image, which can strike and intrigue the eye of the customer. Certainly his travels and interest in art, lead him to have more and more attraction to images; those that surround people every day, from the posters found in offices, to the billboards that paper the subways of large urban centers. Who in life has not happened to walk down a street, notice a propaganda sign, and perhaps the next day spot a different one. This is not a new thought, already in 1954, Mimmo Rotella, presented it in his first exhibition where he exhibited torn posters. Maurizio Ceccarelli's thought, on the other hand, is not to exhibit a torn, but the fragment, the aged poster, disfigured by time, can become new matter again through the technique of decollage.
