Colours and emotions of everyday life
I started painting at the age of 20, stretching a sheet over a home-made frame, and taking building paint from the garage.
Since then, I have not stopped painting, according to a need that was felt; need of materials, mixture and colors, contact brushes on the canvas.
I am self-taught, even if I finally followed for 3 years a painting workshop at the Beaux Arts de Grenoble, after 20 years of personal work and a prize from the G.R.A.A.L., received during my participation in a contest of young creators in 1993.
Painting is for me a way of expressing the things that I can’t always say with words.
It is the result of what has matured unconsciously, and which finally is emerging as we go. I am just a desire for colors and shapes, I bring out on the canvas an emotion, an energy.
I prefer to use acrylic, mainly for a drying time issue. My way of painting requires a quick drying because it is often a single work, without touch-ups.
For 6 years now, I have been focusing on collage, both on canvas, plywood and paper. The working methodology is a little different, since I start from a piece of cutting, therefore an existing visual fragment, to build a more homogeneous or at least unstructured content, a parallel world often dreamlike, defying sometimes the laws of terrestrial attraction or pointing out the contradictions of present-day society.
