Laurence De Leersnyder lives and works in Paris and Saint-Denis. She graduated from Villa Arson, École Nationale Supérieure d'Art de Nice, and the University of Paris - Sorbonne. She was in residence at Jean Tinguely's Cyclop in 2016 and at Domaine de Kerguehennec in 2015.

The trace, the imprint, the geology are omnipresent in the sculptural practice of Laurence De Leersnyder. Particularly appreciating the molding process, the artist uses natural materials such as earth and sand, or materials such as plaster and concrete. From small to monumental dimensions, her works are the result of experiences that may involve the passage of time or the mark of physical action, of repeated gestures such as digging.

Her in situ work can take place in gardens; public like the Parc du Thabor in Rennes, or private like the HEC-Paris school campus with a permanent sculpture.

She has been invited by Les Tanneries, Contemporary Art Center in Amilly, to take over the site's Grande Halle; she created a monumental installation on the scale of the site.

Her work has been the subject of numerous personal and collective exhibitions (at La Monnaie de Paris, at the Tanneries CAC d'Amilly, with 40mcube CAC in Rennes, at the Salon de Montrouge, at HEC-Paris, at the Galerie de Multiples Paris, or in the Printemps de Septembre in Toulouse with the KIT collective). She participated in the Artist Residency program initiated by the Ministry of Culture at the Rousseau-closures factory in Rennes in 2018.
