Joseph Correggio: born in Wolfrathshausen on 20/11/1810 - died on 07.12.1891 in Munich. Father of Ludwig u. Max C. Came from an Italian family, employed at the Royal residence of Nymphenburg. Wastrained at the Academy with Prof. Hiltensperger, who he once assisted in the wall paintings in the royal Residence. He provided many excellent copies after Rubens among others. C. was also a singer and appeared at the court theater in small roles.
