Born in 1956 of a French military father and a mother of Moroccan-Lebanese origin in Casablanca, I traveled throughout Africa throughout my childhood, according to the assignments of my father.
Back in France at the age of 10, I joined the Prytanée national militaire and joined the paratroopers units for 8 years and carried out several external operations; in Lebanon, Chad and Central Africa, Djibouti.
I discover photography in contact with image reporters who cover different conflicts. Among them, Yan Morvan of the Sipa agency and Jacques Pavlovsky and Alain Keler of the Sygma agency. Back in civilian life, I devote myself fully to photography and continue my commitment to humanitarian missions with Bernard Kouchner.
I leave on the front, armed this time with cameras. From Lebanon to Kurdistan, from Afghanistan to the China Sea, four missions spread out from 1982 to 1987 I report an eyewitness account of the daily life of teams of doctors and nurses, combatants, soldiers, victims and wounded4. From ruined cities to remote provinces, I take turns photographing an operation in the basements of a Christian college, the training of Mujahideen women from Komala, a makeshift hospital in the Wardak camp in the Iranian Kurdish mountains. , or the rescue of the boat-people.
In 1984, I met Gökin Sipahioglu, the founder of the Sipa Press agency, who hired him as a photojournalist.
For 12 years, I traveled the world to cover in images the "news" of international conflicts for the French agency: Lebanon (1984 to 1986), Afghanistan (1984,1986), Kurdistan (1984), Surinam (1986), revolution in Romania (1989), Chad (1984,86,87,90), Iran-Iraq war (1985-1987), Liberia and Ivory Coast (1990), Gulf War (1991) 8, Bosnia (1991 to 1996) ), Somalia (1992-1993), Rwanda (1994) and reports in Sierra Leone, Madagascar ...
Wounded during a report in Rwanda in 1994, I left shortly after the agency Sipa, and became an independent photographer. I collaborate with French and foreign magazines and continue reporting abroad: Jerusalem, Egypt, Kosovo, Cambodia, Ivory Coast, Ghana, Ethiopia, Togo, Zanzibar, Burkina Faso, Guyana, Afghanistan ...
In 2014, I invest in NGOs, photograph field missions, Haiti, Togo, Ghana and organize auctions and exhibitions for the benefit of associations.
Since 2014, I revisit all of my archives which are the subject of exhibitions and publications as well as acquisitions in museums while continuing his personal photographic work.
