Jörg Ridderbusch

Jörg Ridderbusch (Fürstenau, 1954) is a German artist. In 1984, Jörg Ridderbusch founded the metal construction company Ridderbusch Metal. In addition to producing steel productions, he now makes, among other things, birds, mice and other animals on iron plinths. For example, he builds thrones for kings and queens from handrails. In this way he adds extra emotion to material that is experienced by many as cold and soulless, material that is also at the end of its life cycle. He uses the cold material in a playful way and combines it with colorful fantasy figures that seem to have run away from a world of fairy tales and legends.
The old, oxidized iron stands in stark contrast to the many colors in the art objects of Ridderbusch. They immediately catch the eye and fascinate many people. The work of Ridderbusch is very suitable as outdoor art, because of it’s size, but also because of it’s ‘natural’ character: the rusty brown of the iron and the fresh, cheerful colors of the fantasy animals. In a garden or outdoor space, his sculptures function as true eye-catchers where the eye wanders again and again.
