Jenny Åkerlund, (born 1984, Stockholm).

With a starting point in the field of perception, Åkerlund's practice revolves around aspects of time and transformation in relation to visual culture.

Through the use of disciplines such as astronomy, physics and history, and with techniques spanning drawing, video and installation, she investigates the impermanence of the visible in different ways.

Åkerlund holds an MFA from the Malmö Art Academy.

Her work has been exhibited at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen, Goya Curtain, Tokyo, Galerie Thaddaeus Ropac, Pantin, Galleri Tom Christoffersen, Copenhagen, Galerie Jeanroch Dard, Paris, Weatherspoon Art Museum, Greensboro and Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago, among others.

She has been an artist in residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris (2016) and Arts Initiative Tokyo (2014).
