  • About the Artist

Jeanjerome's universe is made up of frank colors applied, juxtaposed with a subtle work of half-tones; a voluble geometry, rounded florescences in an explosion of forms. From this mixture of paintings emanates a vital radiance that spreads powerfully beyond the canvas.

It is during his adolescence that Jeanjerome tries the art of tag, graffiti and sculpture. His references are those of urban culture and hip hop. The discovery of the book "Spraycan Art" and his meeting with the teachers Patricia & Philippe Legendre-Kvater who integrated him into the Art School of Etampes are the triggers of his approach.

Among other things, he studied their technique of "drawing through play". Then, he was introduced to marble work. During his artistic research, he experimented with jewelry at the goldsmiths' workshop in Bastille, Paris. Jeanjerome expresses himself through urban sports such as rollerblading and longboarding. He is one of the founders of the Friday rollerblading tours in Paris.

In 2004, he resumed his initiation to jewelry with Ossip Frolov in Copenhagen while remaining connected to urban culture. But above all, he resumed his technical and artistic research. He discovers himself through oil painting and sells his first paintings.

Back in France in 2008, he finds a studio to test the large format that he adopts thereafter. At the same time, he gives Street Art classes to young people for the city of Paris. He participates in collective exhibitions by diversifying both the media and the pictorial means.

His starting point? Street Art, of course, but also Art Nouveau. He appreciates the curves, the colored audacity, the decorative aspect. Indeed, when one observes the artist, one perceives that he approaches his canvas by beginning a long work of goldsmith whose outcome he ignores. And yet, once the canvas is finished, the artist reveals a sense of composition, of the balance of colors and lines! It is also in this perspective that JeanJérôme likes to share his art of live performance.

This will with which he marks the urban space of his imprint joins here the concept of Art Nouveau: any support makes sense as soon as it introduces in our daily life the possibility of art. Under his signature, an energy and creativity emerges, which, depending on the support, adapts to the textures in an urban and elegant orchestral movement.
