Hugo Wirz, (1948 Brugg, Suiza) is a Swiss sculptor living in Madrid after previous stages in Cameroon and Italy among others.
Hugo is a tireless observer of nature and its phenomena, of geometry and its figures. His analytical interest in watery surfaces, undulations and swirls, reflections, fluctuations and winds, moves along with the meticulousness of his technical training, to his chosen materials.
His work are abstract in appearance, but proceed from a surreal images that appear in his dreams. His sculptures remind us of elementary life forms or the genesis of matter, guided by the idea that "Everything is born, develops, transforms and dies to give the possibility of rebirth".
